When you import a sequence into Quickture, you first need to export the .wav file we use to generate a transcript. That process relied on Avid’s built in audio export which means it was slow (sorry Avid we still love you!) and locked up your Media Composer. All that changes now!
Our new Quick Export feature (used to make imports to Quickture faster, we know it’s confusing) is 10 times faster and doesn’t lock up your Media Composer. The Quickture Avid Helper app takes care of it all in the background so you can keep working while your sequences export way way faster!
Just go to Menu > Other Settings and turn on Quick Export for a much faster experience.
Copy Sequences Between Projects and Keep Quickture Data - This update lets you easily copy and move sequences from one project to another without losing the connection to Quickture data. Great for team projects where AEs need to manage various projects for episodes or editors.
Improved File System support - We improved support for path handling when your Mac is connected to NEXIS or a Windows drive.
Improved Jump to Timecode in Media Composer 2025.6 and up - We’re using Avid’s native playhead controls for better reliability and no need to set accessibility settings. Is it time to upgrade?
Better Handling When Switching Bins - Quickture will ignore sequences selected in other bins so you don’t have to manually deselect them in the Quickture panel interface.
More Sequence Compatibility - Quickture now supports many more kinds of sequences for import and editing. These include sequences with track effects, sequences with Mono audio tracks, and more!
Quickture has always been limited when it comes to editing more complex raw sequences in Premiere. For example, you always had to include all of the audio tracks for a clip, even if 8 of them were just silence!
Now you can edit with your regular flow! You can include just the tracks you want from certain clips (not all the tracks). You can apply filters or transitions. Quickture will respect all of those when it generates an edit so you don’t have to prep your footage in a special way for Quickture anymore! Just edit!
To activate it, just go to Menu > Other Settings > turn on “Use Control Surface Editing”.
Multiple Domain Support for Entra SSO - If your global mega-corp has multiple entities, each with their own email domains, and you’d like to manage them all with Quickture SSO, now you can!
Cancel Discuss - We added the ability to cancel the current dialog with Quickture in Discuss mode in case it hangs, or in case you want to change your mind about that thing you just asked!
Custom Vocabulary Change Confirmation - Quickture will confirm before you abandon changes you made to your custom vocabulary (like we do in the other preferences menus).
Better Discuss UI - We cleaned up the UI so the interface elements at the bottom wouldn’t overlap your prompts.
Traditional Transcripts Break on Silence - If your transcript includes silent gaps of 30 seconds or longer, we’ll break paragraphs on those.
Improved 10+ Speakers Performance - We updated our engine to deliver better results with fewer errors.
Fixed the App Updater - The App updater wasn’t working as well as it should (not at all). Not it will work to make updating Quickture much easier.
Faster Analysis - We parallelized parts of the sequence analysis to make your imports to Quickture faster.
Improved Windows Installer - Our Windows installer now behaves better when an Admin installs Quickture for another user.
Faster Import Uploads - Quickture will attempt to upload multiple sequences simultaneously instead of waiting to upload them one-at-a-time.
Hindi Language Support - Although Hindi was already supported in our Multiple Languages setting, we’ve added a dedicated Hindi setting for improved transcription.
Fixed Saving Excel Transcripts to Custom Locations - There was a bug that blocked saving of Excel file transcripts to custom locations, but now it’s gone!
