We're excited to release a new version of Quickture packed with cool new features and tons of usability and stability improvements (we squashed a ton of bugs).
Better Edits - We've made a ton of changes to our story building algorithms behind the scenes to deliver better story in every mode.
Predict Who's Speaking - The latest Quickture saves time in your transcription by automatically predicting the names of your speakers! It won't get all of them, but in our tests it can predict most of the speakers correctly. It can even identify crew like producers or sound mixers, and label them as well.
Sequences up to 6 hours long - Quickture now supports sequences up to 6 hours in length in both Avid and Premiere. We're working on making that even longer in the next release.
Standup Comedy Mode - Quickture now gets comedy. Standup comedy mode comes with lots of new context on how a comedy routine is organized, the elements of a joke, and yes, what's actually funny.
New Smoothing Settings - We've added brand new settings for smoothing your cuts that take you far beyond just "consolidating tiny gaps". Really, how quaint. The new settings let you control how "cutty" the cut is. Like consolidate tiny gaps of yore, these new settings will merge adjacent clips to eliminate cuts.
Low Smoothing - this connects clips that are a second or two apart
Medium Smoothing - this connects clips that are up to 5 seconds apart
High Smoothing - this connects clips that are up to 10 seconds apart
Chunk Mode - this is something totally different and deserves its own bullet!
Smoothing settings can also be changed in your child edits so you can start in one mode, but shift to another as you refine your edit.
Chunk Mode Smoothing - Thanks to user feedback, we realized you want to be able to select large chunks from your scene or interview that tell the best story or address your specific requests. Chunk mode uses our brand new algorithm to find the best contiguous chunks and deliver your story with as few cuts as possible. Chunk mode is great for getting a rougher but smoother cut. It's great for selecting full jokes from a comedy routine or full sections for a social media mini episode!
Improved Time Control - The target time slider will now get you closer to your chosen time, even for longer edits. In Refinement Edits, we used to recommend that you tell Quickture how many lines or paragraphs you want your edit to be. Now you can say give me a 30 second cut or a two minute cut right in your prompts for Guided Edits or Refine Edit on a child sequence and it will do it's best to get there. For longer edits it's still recommended to put use the Auto Edit first.
"Refine Edit" is now "Guided Edit" - It was getting a little confusing to differentiate the Refine Edit tab from the Revise Edit on later sequences so we changed the name of the first one to Guided Edit because you can Guide the Edit of the raw sequence. Hopefully that's clearer!
UI Info - We added info on the sequence you're currently in, and more info into the response notes on what got you there.
One more note - If you requested a feature and you don't see it here, we haven't forgotten about you! We're already getting started on the next set of improvements and we'll work hard to get your request addressed!
